Class and Office Hours Cancelled for Wednesday, 7 September.

I'm sick as a dog.  Our class and my office hours are cancelled for today, Wednesday, 7 Sept.  Check the website later for your assignment due on Friday, or see below.

Due Friday, 9 Sept.

1. Write a two paragraph description of what you did over Labor Day break.  If you worked, then write a description of your work and what you did.  If you did something fun, then write a description of your activity or rest.  If you mixed fun and play, devote a paragraph to each.  In your description, use plenty of details and examples of what you did.
2. Pre-write your two paragraphs before drafting them to discover with you can say.  Use either the brainstorming or freewriting techniques we have gone over in class.
3. After you have drafted each of your paragraphs, go back over each to make sure you have a topic sentence that lets your reader know what your paragraph will be about, and make sure your paragraph stays on the focus you establish in your topic sentence.  Make sure each paragraph is developed with at least seven to ten sentences.
4. Proofread each paragraph to make sure you have used a mixture of "IC." and "IC, FANBOYS IC." sentences.  Double check to make sure you have used full independence clauses.  Make sure each independent clause has a subject phrase, a verb phrase, and can stand on its own.  Make sure each sentence has periods and commas in the correct place and starts with a capital.
